Upcountry Sundays Acoustic style is Mana’o Radio’s regular every-other-Sunday acoustic showcase at Casanova Restaurant in Makawao. Show time is from 2:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon, and only $7 at the door goes entirely to help keep Mana’o Radio on the air.

UPCOUNTRY SUNDAYS ACOUSTIC STYLE is five years old!  It’s hard to believe.  I guess it just proves the old saying, “My, how time flies when you’re having fun”!   And we’ve been having so much fun all this time!  When I look back, I’m amazed, humbled and delighted to realize that’s something like 120 shows: every two weeks, 11 months a year, since our first show on July 25, 2004!  Since then we’ve been bringing you the finest in acoustic music in an amazing variety of genres: artists from all of the Hawaiian islands as well as performers from the US mainland, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand have donated their time and talents to help keep Mana’o Radio on the air.

To celebrate, we’re pulling out all the stops on Sunday, July 26th for our Big Fifth Birthday Bash!  The mighty Mana’o Radio Orchestra takes the stage, in a special “unplugged” performance, featuring Vince Esquire, Dorothy Betz, Les Adam, Don Lopez and Kerry Sofaly.  The “MRO” will be jamming with an impressive array of friends, including Steve Grimes, Dr. Nat, Randall Rospond, Steve Sargenti,  Eddie Tanaka and Carlos Xavier.   And who knows who else will show up!  (There’s a couple of pretty exciting but unconfirmed possibilities.)  Stay tuned to 91.5 FM to find out.  It will be a day to remember.
